EMS and ISO 14001

Environmental Management Systems (EMS): Our students and trainees are equipped with knowledge to set up  Environmental Management Systems (EMS). EMS comprises of policies, processes and practices that enable an organization carry out its operations in a way that minimizes its impact on the environment without compromising its operating efficiency and profitability.

ISO 14001: The internationally acceptable standard for EMS is ISO 14001 standards established by the International Organization for Standards. 

The five main stages of an EMS, as defined by the ISO 14001 standard, are:

1. Commitment and Policy by top management

2. Planning with SMART objectives to reduce the environmental impact of operations

3. Implementation to follow through with the action plan

4. Evaluation of the implementation against the stated goals in the plan

5. Review of the evaluation results to see if it is consistent with the goals of the policy
