The welding pieces fell into Aremu’s eye. During the short recess, his welding-goggles broke. He had kept it on the floor near him while he sat on the floor to eat his lunch. His partner mistakenly marched them. He got a new one from the store but it didn’t quite fit him – that was the last piece in stock.
Because, the machine part he was working on had to be delivered that same day, he reluctantly agreed to use the unfitting goggles. Three minutes into the job, a welding-piece fell into his eye. That brought the work to a close and kept him at home for two weeks.
It was a painful and boring two weeks for him. The company lost production time at his unit and had four late deliveries. And a client sued them for causing the loss of a millionaire deal.
